April Float Notes
“We often experience life as a series of ups and downs, highs and lows.
But if we can consistently return to center, we'll be more peaceful and less reactive, resting in the eye of the storm.”
— Jay Shetty
Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Float
After many years of hosting float sessions, we've picked up a few helpful tips and tricks that can make your experience even better. Whether you’re a seasoned floater or just starting out, these suggestions can help you dive a little deeper into relaxation.
Humidity Sensitivities? We’ve Got You Covered.
If you’re someone who’s sensitive to humidity, we have two simple yet effective recommendations. First, feel free to use a provided washcloth to gently wedge between the doors of our solo tanks—this allows for a bit of passive airflow to keep things more comfortable. Second, we keep Vicks Vapor Rub on hand, dispensed with a q-tip, which can be applied just beneath the nose to help with easier breathing.
Open Float Pool Comfort
For those enjoying our open float pool, know that we can remotely adjust the water temperature, air temperature, or general humidity to fine-tune your session. Just press the call attendant button and we’ll make the necessary adjustments.
Finding Your Float Position
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to how you float—it’s all about what feels best. Many guests find that resting their arms above their head allows their neck and shoulders to fully relax. Another helpful technique is to lightly brace the sides of the tank with your hands and feet when you first lie back. Let the water settle, then slowly release into a centered, comfortable position.
Salt Room Before or After? It’s Up to You.
We’re often asked whether the Salt Room is best before or after a float. The answer depends on your goals. Guests who start with the Salt Room often find it helps them breathe easier and unwind before their session. Others prefer to use it afterward as a way to gently re-acclimate, reflect, and continue the relaxation. Either way, you're getting the benefits of respiratory therapy in a calm, cozy space.
Enjoy a Cup of Tea While You’re Here
We proudly serve loose-leaf tea from Good Life Tea at our center. Take a few moments to enjoy a cup before or after your float—it’s just another way to extend the calm.
Enhance Your Session with Music
If you find your mind hard to quiet or life’s just feeling a little too busy, we encourage you to try our waterproof bone conduction headphones upgrade. Preloaded with float-friendly audio, they offer a gentle focus and have been a real game changer—especially for our members.
We hope these tips help make your next float even more restorative. As always, we’re here to help fine-tune your experience so you can truly find your Stasis.
